Valu Thimmapuram, Kondapalli, Anuru, Ramesampeta and Surampalem are the five remote upland villages in Peddapuram and Gandepalli mandals of East Godavari District. These villages have sizeable BPL S.C population,. Their struggle for existence and the agony for years to bring their assigned land into cultivation was finally found a solution for them in the form of Comprehensive Land Development Project ( C.L.D.P ).
Their livelihoods problem for about 2 decades ended in a happy note not only in the form of finding a solution, but also getting the marketing facility for their produce with good financial returns.
The District Water Management Agency, East Godavari District took the challenge and made Comprehensive study to develop the land which is to the tune of 730 acres. Taking the beneficiaries totaling 540 into confidence, a comprehensive programme for development of the land was taken up with the financial assistance of NABARD under RIDF-X.
The project was sanctioned under with project cost of Rs.500.27 lakhs under Public-Private partnership. An amount of Rs.127.78 lakhs have been sanctioned under RIDF-X. and 137.45 lakhs have been sanctioned under APMIP The work is under progress and the project is expected to be completed by June’2007.
