Introduction |
|
The District Capacity Building Centres (DCBCs)
are strengthening the efforts of the Watershed movement
in five districts of the State. 8 - 10 DCBC
members are based in each APRLP district
and report to the Project Director, District Water
Management Agency (PD, DWMA). |
|
As
the name suggests, the principal role of these centres
is the co-ordination of capacity building at the district-level.
The DCBCs are also expected to play an important role
in developing a clear policy and action plan for the
livelihoods efforts in the watershed villages. DCBC members
will coordinate the following work: |
-
Establishing the management structure of the District
Capacity Building Centres as a part of the district unit and
for which the chairperson is the District Collector and the
convener is the Project Director, DWMA.
-
The DCBC and Training and Technology Development Centre
(TTDCs) form two critical wings of the training strategy
of the district. While the DCBC focus on the
planning and implementation of watersheds and livelihoods; the TTDCs
play a critical
role in consolidating the SHG movement as well as the
micro-enterprise and marketing strategy;

addressing them, how are DCBCs building awareness at
community-level about the needs of the poor and the
need to integrate them in SHGs, etc.? If you
wish, your contributions will remain anonymous. |
