What is APRLP's Livelihoods Approach?

Concepts:

APRLP’s livelihoods approach draws on elements of approaches followed by DFID, CARE, OXFAM, UNDP, etc.  For example from UNDP, APRLP recognises the important role appropriate technology has to play in improved livelihoods.  In the framework used by DFID, technology is not explicitly mentioned although it does fall within ‘human capital’.

APRLP is guided by the following livelihood principles, that interventions should be: people-centred; participatory; holistic analysis (focused intervention); multi-level (recognising micro-, meso-, macro- linkages); builds on people’s existing strengths; and, flexible and responsive.
