NOTE ON THE ACTIVITIES TAKEN UP UNDER EDUCATION COMPONENT IN SERP

The following initiatives have been put in place under component of education in SERP,

In the Eight Giri Pragathi Mandals of Adilabad, Khammam and Warangal Districts, Three Models of Projects have been rolled out from the year 2008-09.  The details are as follows.

1.      ADILABAD DISTRICT – Pre-primary Education The Project

·       Supporting the Mandal Mahila Samakhyas of Sirpur (U), Jainoor, Indervelly and Utnoor Mandals of Adilabad District to set up and manage community governed Pre-primary schools. The Project spans over a period Six years and envisions to provide quality and play way Education for 35000 Tribal Children, in partnership with Centre for Development & Research, Utnoor, headed by Sri V.M. Manohara Prasad, I.A.S (Retd),

·      280 Pre-primary schools will be set up over a period of 3 years. The children of these schools will progress in to class V over a period of 6 years in to regular Govt. Primary schools.

·      Trained Teachers under the Project will be positioned in the Primary schools to ensure that the children will continue their education with the same zeal as imbibed in the Pre-primary schools.

·      Customized Teaching Learning Material will be prepared by the Teachers themselves.

·      One Training and Resource Centre is set up at Utnoor to facilitate training for the Teachers, Cluster Coordinators and Mandal Coordinators, apart from providing quality inputs in the preparation of TLM and planning for effective administration of the schools.
